Top 5 Freedom to Operate tips

Recently on IP Think Tank, we discussed the top 5 freedom to operate tips.
The top 5 tips were: 1. Think globally; 2. Don't forget non-literal infringement; 3. Don't assume anything; 4. Invalidity is good, but non-infringement is better; and 5. For small entities use your PCT international type search report as a first pass at your freedom to operate.
What would you add?
